I want to encourage changes to systems of health care that help patients learn to protect and maintain mental and physical health necessary for living meaningful lives. I envision a primary care team that includes both behavioral health providers and traditional medical providers offering services to patients at the time of need.
I am pursuing work as a trainer and health care consultant, and my hope is to lessen stigma patients and families experience in seeking care for emotional, behavioral, and physical health problems. I want to teach both medical and behavioral health providers to use proven behavioral techniques that empower patients to make intentional choices and act with compassion towards their families, communities, and themselves.
